Description
True first mono pressing of Maiden Voyage (BLP-4195). Deep groove side one. (See Frederick Cohen's guide to Blue Note first pressings). Plastylite pressings of this LP are extremely hard to come by, but especially so with the deep groove detail. Plastylite P/"ear" in dead wax, as well as VanGelder mastering stamp.
The vinyl is in excellent VG+(+) shape, and plays amazingly well. Incredible sonic fidelity. Some light paper scuff-type marks present that are not audible. Some light spindle marks on the labels. The cover shows a little more wear with storage scuffing and some edge/corner wear. Very early (approx. 1inch) lower center seam split. Some light staining on reverse. I would grade a high VG/low VG+. Also included is the original "27 years" inner sleeve in VG condition. Record will ship in a new mofi inner sleeve.
