Up for bid is a rare mono LP, "Maiden Voyage," by Herbie Hancock, featuring Freddie Hubbard, George Coleman, Ron Carter, and Anthony Williams. See pictures for song list. This was released by Blue Note Records (BLP 4195) in 1963. Here are some specifics about this LP:

Maiden Voyage
12" black vinyl with etched matrix info as follows: there is an "ear" followed by an etched BNLP-4195- A with "VAN GELDER"stamped farther down in the dead vinyl / an etched BNLP-4195- B followed by an "ear" followed by a stamped "VAN GELDER". The interior labels have the "New York USA" address, and an inner sleeve with "1939-1966 27 Years Blue Note" printed at the top. The inner sleeve has the address 43 West 61st St., New York 23, N.Y. printed at the bottom. The same address appears on the back of the jacket. Jacket is heavy cardboard with a back-pasted picture sleeve.
LP is a solid VG+, with light scuffs on either side. LP plays with some light surface noise (some intermittent crackle and tics). Listen to a couple of tracks from this actual LP, unaltered in any way. The first track is track 1 on side 1 ("Maiden Voyage"), and the second track is track 3 side 1 ("Little One").
LP is very clean and retains a nice gloss. Interior labels are very clean. All seams and corners show wear. There is ring wear and light scuffing on the front and back of the jacket. There is wear along the mouth of the front portion of the jacket. The front coloring is still bright, and the front and back retain a nice gloss. Includes original paper inner sleeve. Mono copies of this LP don't turn up very often - a mono copy sold last year for $177! Don't miss this rare gem!
