Description
This is the Van Gelder-stamped mono “P”-pressing (no deep groove) of Herbie Hancock “Takin’ Off” on the New York USA labels of Blue Note BLP 4109. Other than a few inaudible scuffs on Side 1, the playing surface is in excellent condition, with a beautiful luster. The laminated New York 23 cover is in excellent condition - bright and clean throughout; print smudge at the lower right corner of the back slick; ¼” bump at the top left corner; ½” bump at the lower right corner; “Review Copy” stamped at the top of the back slick. Illustrated Blue Note inner sleeve (with reviewer’s comments) is included. Personnel include Freddie Hubbard, Dexter Gordon, Butch Warren, and Billy Higgins. $200.00.
