description:
Awesome mega-rare musique concrete sound collage made out of field recordings of New York City's waterfronts - fog horns, engines, bells, waves, bridges, construction workers and their machines, etc. - "rearranged, mixed, played against one-another, built into rich and complex textures" and processed through pre-synthesizer tape manipulation. This collaboration between a photographer and a documentary filmmaker is a reworking of the soundtrack to their film of the same name. Includes photocopied insert (not original).

Should be of interest to fans of musique concrete and experimental field recording artists like Luc Ferrari, Pierre Schaeffer, John Cage, Bill Fontana, Jim Fassett, Tony Schwartz, Tod Dockstader, Henry Jacobs, Nurse With Wound, Christian Marclay, Pierre Henry, Francois Bayle, Bernard Parmegiani, Iannis Xenakis, Ilhan Mimaroglu, Jon Appleton, and Rune Lindblad.

Check out my other items for more early electronic, synth, experimental, noise, free jazz/improv, artist records, 20th century classical, audiophile, psych, spoken word, and other unusual vinyl.

US Shipping Media Mail with tracking is $5.00 for up to 3 12" records, then $0.65 for each additional; Priority Mail is also available but pricing depends on zipcode (you can check eBay's calculated shipping price on this page); other expedited shipping options and insurance are all available on request. Combine multiple items to save on shipping.

International Shipping 1 or 2 records to Europe/UK/Scandinavia/Asia/Australia is $24.00 for USPS First Class Airmail with tracking, and roughly $12 for every 2 additional lps depending on weight (7" records will cost less; heavy box sets will cost more). 1 or 2 records to Canada is $16.50 for First Class Airmail with tracking. 1 or 2 records to Mexico is $21.50 for First Class Airmail with tracking. Other international destinations vary as does the cost of adding additional lps depending on weight, email for a quote. Please note that First Class Airmail usually takes about 2 weeks and is uninsured. International shipments requiring insurance can use the faster but more expensive USPS Priority Mail International service or other expedited insured methods. Combine multiple items to save on shipping; I can hold paid records to be combined with a future purchase if desired. Feel free to email with any shipping questions.

Packing I pack professionally and with the utmost care drawn from years of experience trading vinyl internationally. I use new record mailers which I have determined are the best and most protective, reinforced with cardboard inserts and bubble wrap padding. All records are shipped with poly plastic sleeves and with the vinyl outside of the cover to prevent damage. All packages are completely sealed with strong packing tape covering all openings. Unless requested, no paper invoice is included in the package, both to save trees and to avoid customs difficulties. If you'd like your package done any differently, just let me know.

Payment I accept Paypal (which allows for fastest possible shipment). Please email with any payment questions. If you are paying by Paypal and have won multiple items, please use a single Paypal payment. I will send an eBay invoice to winners shortly after my auctions close, and an email after payment has been received to confirm item shipment.

Other Info Feel free to email me if you have any questions (need more info, want more pictures, etc.); you can use eBay's 'ask a question' function. Records are visually graded unless otherwise noted; my condition rating scale is M (sealed) / NM (unplayed) / EX (barely used) / VG (some evident wear from prior use but no major flaws) / G (major flaws) / F (very major flaws). All included album inserts are pictured in the listing; what you see is what you get, if I know an insert is missing I will mention it in the description. Satisfaction guaranteed; if you have any problems with your order please contact me directly.
