Description

“Here and Now” by The Third Wave (MPS 14 263 Stereo) Recorded November 1969 and January 1970 at Villingen, Munich Germany

Another big soft rock record… these five Filipino sisters from Stockton, California were discovered by none other than George Duke. He arranged and conducted the sessions for this marvelous LP, one of my all-time faves. It's equal parts soft rock and sweet suburbia jazz, immaculate recording & production (typical for an MPS record) and a brilliant selection of tracks: “Canteloupe Island” and “Maiden Voyage” by Herbie Hancock, swingin' jazz vox covers of “Got to Get You Into My Life” and “Eleanor Rigby” and several originals that rank up there with the best groove-driven soft rock records, especially on “Waves Lament” and “Once There Was a Time.”

Should appeal to fans of Barbara Moore, Joyce Cooling, Feather, The Free Design, The Four King Cousins, Roger Nichols & A Small Circle of Friends, Peggy Lipton, Lisa Miller, Mark Radice singles on Decca, Miss Abrams & the Strawberry Point Fourth Grade Class, The Goggles, any of the Rod McBrien projects, Northern Lights, all the great Discovery label light jazz West Coast stuff, anybody really into melodic soft rock or jazz vocals.

Condition: Cover = EX (Front of cover is near perfect, there's some slight age yellowing to the white back and some places where the lamination is just beginning to peel)/Record = EX- (shiny & clean, no spindle marks, plays with out any noticeable surface noise save for one tiny mark at the end of track one, side one and one very slight “whoosh” that can be heard in the silence before track one)

Feel free to email me with any questions.

If you are paying with Paypal, all the info you need (postage rates, insurance, packing info, etc.) is as follows:

Records graded cover/disc, strict and fully guaranteed or full refund (less postage). Payment accepted: Paypal, Western Union Bidpay or Money Order. Payment must be received in 14 days for domestic orders or 21 days for foreign orders, or I reserve the right to re-list the item.

PACKAGING/SHIPPING/POSTAGE: As I'm VERY careful about keeping LPs in their described condition, I ship all LPs in custom LP mailers and use filler pads. I pack the disc with the inner-sleeve placed behind cover (both in a plastic slipcover) to prevent seam splitting in transit.

Postage for 1-2 LPs within USA: Media Mail = $3.00 or Priority Postage = $6.50, each additional LP add $1.00 (per LP).

Insurance is optional, but any uninsured package is the Buyer's responsibility (At Your Own Risk) and I cannot refund lost or damaged packages. Insurance rates are as Follows: 0-$50.00 = $1.30; $50.01 - $100.00 = $2.20; $100.01 - $200.00 = $3.20; $200.01 and Higher = $4.20.
