Twelfth Annual High School Battle of the Bands, Hollywood Bowl (Custom Fidelity, 1971)
An amazing collection of some of Southern California's best high school bands in one place - with guest conductor HENRY MANCINI. The best track in my opinion, without a doubt, is the killer version of the Led Zeppelin track MOBY DICK, played by a band called INSTANT FUNK, complete with a killer drum solo AND electric violin!! Holy crap. WOW. There's also some good soul groups, including "The Bells" by THE SOULETTES, and a version of "Let It Be" by the SOUL SONICS. Again - wow. Don't miss!!
