HABANA 9 P.M. INSTRUMENTAL Lp by HILARIO DURAN with ORCHESTRA EGREM. Original Cuban pressing on the ARIETO label (LD 3820), from 1976. Obscure and seldom heard session by the legendary pianist with group. An infectious mix of funk / jazz and latin fusion with fender rhodes / moog and hypnotic afro cuban rhythm section. The brilliant latin jazz fusion of EL SON DE VICTORIA was comped on the influential Si Para Usted - The Funky Beats of Revolutionary Cuba - Vol. 2 but as you should all know by now, compilers never use the very best trax when selecting. ERA PARA TI is very en vogue, much more French sounding and exactly the kind of fender rhodes scat samba / Brazilian influenced club tune you would expect to find on a trendy Japanese mix CD. Sexy vocal chorus with disco strings and very stylish breaks. LA CONTRAPARTIDA is another top club tune featuring the funky fender rhodes of Hilario. Fizzing synthesizer hooks and funk backbeat like a latin-ized Herbie Hancock Headhunters theme with flute / congas / colourful horn section and lots more fender rhodes breaks. Great for DJs. The record is in excellent condition and looks to be virtually unplayed. The cover suffers from a little ring wear and there was a sticker listing the original vendor ( Ediciones Vitral, Inc. ) that was attached to the back cover that has since fallen off ( leaving behind a little white tear that is visible at the top of the second picture). i still have that sticker if you are interested in preserving the integrity of the record. All in all everything is in great shape and this is a great opportunity that should not be passed up. GOOD LUCK BIDDING!
