“Rappin’ With Mr. Magic”
(Magic Records)
Tony Pearson’s legendary disc debut, the original recording only issued on 45rpm, as all hip-hop collectors know. The disc came from the collection of a club DJ.
Copy up for bid is not perfect, however, but a chance to obtain the 45 for less than the $500+ price recent high grade copies have achieved.
“Rappin" is on both sides, however, one side of the 45, as shown with the 1st depicted label image, plays better than the other, see below…

CONDITION: I grade for visual, and for playback.
Playback = graded while listening thru top notch studio headphones
Grades are: Near Mint (for store stock - unplayed), VG++ (close to perfect) VG+ (excellent keeper copy)
VG , VG minus, and G (what most ebay sellers award as a VG grade is equal to my G condition).
I do not use the EX grade. EX = VG+ in my strict grading standards.
Visual: VG Has numerous hairline marks and a couple of rub scuffs on both sides. Wax still has sheen, no playwear.
Audio / Playback: VG the better playing side, as heard in sample, has low surface crackle. No loud pops or clicks. Since the song is 5 minutes, the groove span is tighter allowing for more imperfections. A deep clean may remove some of the surface noise.
This is the side with the label that has a few very tiny label tears (1st label scan in auction listing).
The other side, same song, suffers from heavy crackling at the start, lasting for the first 30-40 seconds, (likely from DJ cue-up / back scratching issues) then the remainder of the side plays VG.

The 45 will be packaged correctly - in a 45rpm mailer box with square filler pads.
USA - $4.50 (first class mail)
Overseas ( 1st class international have increased)
Canada = $9
Europe / Australia = $13.50 ( one 45rpm) $23 (two 45rpms)
***Note – any 45 surpassing a bid amount of $300 will be shipped global priority express mail.
