Hobo’s 'Child of the Earth' is one of the most elusive and rare progressive releases from Australia’s 1970s scene, seemingly unknown to even the most knowledgeable Australian music historians. After appearing in one of Han Pokora’s books, the album has been placed on many wish lists created by record collectors around the world. This obscurity may be attributed to the fact that the album supposedly sunk without a trace upon release in 1978, due to the small Sydney-based ‘Down Under’ label folding immediately after release. The only notable musician in Hobo is bassist Henry Correy who had been in the Australian Jazz-Rock band, Sun with Renee Geyer, releasing a rare album on RCA Victor in 1973. "Children of the sun" was also the first album that famed Australia producer Mark Opitz worked on. A well produced classic lost gem of Australian Prog rock it features some fantastic vocals, Richie Blackmore-like ferocity and space-rock guitar theatrics and densely layered analogue synthesizer colours, melodies and effects by the ARP Omni string synthesizer and Mini-Moog. Although released a few years later it does remind me a lot of Bakery & Headband. I have listed a few of their strongest songs via Youtube for anyone who’d like to hear. This is the first copy I have ever seen and I have only ever seen one other copy listed.

There are no signs of spindle marks on labels. Record has a few light scuff marks that produce a few light crackles mostly noticeable between tracks and is in Near Mint condition. Cover has light ring wear, a few small pen marks on back left centre edge, a light crease mark on top right corner and cella glaze is lifting slightly on front. Cover is in VG++ condition.

Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.
Post methods within Australia: All records are posted via Australia Post. Within Australia all items come with a tracking number.
Post method for overseas: All parcels are sent via Australia Post and are sent on a standard airmail service. There are no tracking numbers on these items. If you require a tracking number the item will have to be sent as an insured item which incurs a further postage fee.
