Description
Up for auction are two aluminum embossed records. Both are in rough shape
1) Speak-O-Phone - Home recording circa 1930 78 rpm Father announces that his little girl will play Nola on piano. Then he announces that someone will play "Spanish Fandango" on the "Hawaiian Steel Guitar". Side 2 is a piano and mandolin (or what sounds like a mandolin) duet.
Condition: There is a dimple in the disc. So it has tracking issues. BUT, I did get it to play. You need a lot of weight on the styli and have to fight it but you can get a good transfer. Recording level is low. ***I recommend having the disc dome upward rather than have it dish. it will track better that way.
2) WOR aircheck - April 4, 1937. Disc runs 33 1/3. Very overmodulated at the time of recording. Has a hard time tracking at the beginning of both sides but does better as disc goes on. Mostly classical movie like music. A little dialogue. Very overmodulated. Newspaper listings say "Oriental Philosophy And Music"
