Description
Up for auction / sale is an early pressing of "Horace Silver and The Jazz Messengers" (Blue Note 1518). This LP has been cleaned and play graded by me using an SL-3200 TT and a Nagaoka MP-110 cart. "West 63rd" on the label and "RVG" in the deadwax.
Cosmetics: I would rate this a VG overall, mainly due to the jacket. The jacket looks very used -- the edges are very frayed on all sides, there is a bend in the upper right of the jacket and the seam is starting to split. There is a crease on the front jacket, near the middle. On the back jacket a small piece of the label is missing on the bottom left. Otherwise the jacket is intact. Standard white sleeve included. The LP itself looks OK -- its shine has dulled a bit, but I don't see any major deep scratches. But many light marks and some light scratches - basically an LP that spent some time without an inner sleeve but generally in good shape. But definitely looks like a used LP.
Sound quality: Overall I would also rate this a strong VG. No skips in my test, but a lot of pops/clicks overall - but nothing that I would consider overly distracting. Playable but definitely well used and priced accordingly.
Will combine shipping as needed. Good luck and thanks for looking!
