HORACE SILVER HORACE-SCOPE Blue Note BLP 4042
Up for auction is 2nd press U.S. Mono Blue Note (47 West 63rd) P - pressing (1964) of Horace Silver's 1960 Blue Note, "Horace-Scope". Fantastic Hard Bop session featuring front line of Blue Mitchell and Junior Cook. Great writing and playing.
DEAD WAX INFO: BNLP - 4042 A-1 etched on Side 1 run-out and BNLP - 4042 B-1 etched on Side 2 run-out. Both Sides have RVG stamped into the run-out. Both Sides also have the "'P" or ear mark. Probably an early 1962 pressing with 47 West 63rd labels and Deep Groove Side 1 only (transitional press, no doubt). VINYL VISUAL: VG+ at best with minor loss of gloss and minor marking. Nothing deep. Labels show minimal play.
VINYL PLAY GRADE: VG+ at least with very little noise. Could use a cleaning, which might elevate this even more. Low noise level on lead-ins and between tracks. A quality player with that bright, LOUD Blue Note Plastylite sound.
COVER VISUAL: VG+ with very little wear. Great gloss and spine and seams are excellent. Some minor tape residue, and some 2 short pieces of clear tape visible top rear (that I would not dare remove). Also, small tear and bunch-up rear bottom (see pictures)
COMES WITH early Blue Note PRINTED INNER (not the original, as it has BN 4158 written in pencil, which means that it originally came with the Freddie Roach lp "Good Move").

Play grade is done on a Thorens TD 165 through Yamaha amplification and JBL reference headphones (treble set high so there will be no surprises when you get the item).
ALL ITEMS WILL BE SHIPPED WITH PROPER MAILERS AND EXTRA PADDING, PARTICULARLY AT THE CORNERS. I HAVE MADE FAR TOO MANY PURCHASES ON EBAY WHERE THE ITEM HAS ARRIVED WITH DINGED CORNERS DUE TO INADEQUATE PACKAGING MATERIAL. BY USING FOLDED BUBBLE WRAP IN ALL FOUR CORNERS, YOU CAN BE ASSURED OF AN ITEM WITHOUT DINGED CORNERS (OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND FOR THAT MATTER). Non-tracked shipping throughout the U.S.A will be $13 CANADIAN per item, as will tracked shipping within Canada. Tracked shipping to the U.S.A. will be $16 CANADIAN for items under 500g, and slightly more for items over 500g. Most single sleeve items can be shipped as under 500g. Gatefolds and multi-sets will be over 500g.
Being a reasonable person, I will be absorbing ALL of the shipping material cost, and some of the actual postage cost.

I do offer full refunds (excluding cost to get it back to me), on any item that is not satisfactory. SINCE SHIPPING OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE (Thank You Canada Post), I will rarely list gatefolds or multi-items for sale overseas. IF ANYONE OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS CRAZY INTERESTED IN ANY ITEM, I WILL QUOTE SHIPPING ON REQUEST. Since a lot of the stuff that I will be selling is of higher end quality, rarely will things be offered overseas. Sorry folks. Again, I can consider requests on an item-by-item basis.
