Horace Silver Quintet - 6 Pieces Of Silver 1957 Blue Note BLP 1539
This is the original release of this great album featuring Silver, Donald Byrd, Hank Mobley, Doug Watkins, & Louis Hayes.
Released in January 1957 just before Blue Note moved to their W 63rd St address. This LP & cover have the rare 161 Lexington Ave address, making it the original issue. Very heavy 200g vinyl. Has RVG (Rudy Van Gelder) & 'ear' stamps in matrix.
The record is in very good+ to excellent condition. A few minor scuffs, clean & glossy, sounds great with just a few isolated clicks at lead-in. Album cover is very good+ with a little handling wear, 2 label removal spots, repaired split at bottom, looks nice. (see photos) Poly-lined audiophile inner sleeve.
Very rare jazz find of this original-issue LP.
