  THE HORACE SILVER QUINTET plus J.J. Johnson   The Cape Verdean Blues  BLP 4220
Up for auction is a 1966 MONO Liberty Blue Note (2nd press) of Horace Silver's fantastic autumn 1965 session, "The Cape Verdean Blues". Great mid 60s Hard Bop session featuring J.J. Johnson on the 2nd half of the lp. A young Joe Henderson dazzles throughout. Also features what is probably the first recorded version of Henderson's Mo' Joe. Essential recording. CROSSOVER pressing featuring mono Liberty labels and an original New York cover.         
DEAD WAX INFO:  Side 1 has BNLP-4220•A• etched and VAN GELDER stamped into the dead wax. Side 2 has BNLP-4220•B etched and VAN GELDER stamped into the dead wax. Crossover Blue Note release, with mono Liberty labels and original New York cover - circa 1966 Liberty takeover.   VINYL VISUAL: VG+ and WAY better with very light marking and some slight bag rash, Labels show one or two plays only.  
VINYL PLAY GRADE: NM at best with GREAT MONO fidelity. Would be very tough to find a better mono listen of this particular press (or any press).       
COVER VISUAL: VG+ and WAY better with some almost no wear, but there is a bit of tape residue and slight tape pull marks from shrink taping removal (why does anyone do this?). PLEASE SEE PICTURES. SHOWS VERY WELL INDEED.   
Comes with original printed Harvest branded paper inner. Vinyl is kept in a heavy Audiophile plastic inner. DETAILS ON SELLER AND SHIPPING

Play grade is done on a Thorens TD 165 through Yamaha amplification and JBL reference headphones (treble set high so there will be no surprises when you get the item). 
ALL ITEMS WILL BE SHIPPED WITH PROPER MAILERS AND EXTRA PADDING, PARTICULARLY AT THE CORNERS. I HAVE MADE FAR TOO MANY PURCHASES ON EBAY WHERE THE ITEM HAS ARRIVED WITH DINGED CORNERS DUE TO INADEQUATE PACKAGING MATERIAL. BY USING FOLDED BUBBLE WRAP IN ALL FOUR CORNERS, YOU CAN BE ASSURED OF AN ITEM WITHOUT DINGED CORNERS (OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND FOR THAT MATTER).             Non-tracked shipping throughout the U.S.A will be $13 CANADIAN per item, as will tracked shipping within Canada. Tracked shipping to the U.S.A. will be $16 CANADIAN for items under 500g, and slightly more for items over 500g. Most single sleeve items can be shipped as under 500g. Gatefolds and multi-sets will be over 500g. 
Being a reasonable person, I will be absorbing ALL of the shipping material cost, and some of the actual postage cost.

I do offer full refunds (excluding cost to get it back to me), on any item that is not satisfactory.       SINCE SHIPPING OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE (Thank You Canada Post), I will rarely list gatefolds or multi-items for sale overseas. IF ANYONE OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS CRAZY INTERESTED IN ANY ITEM, I WILL QUOTE SHIPPING ON REQUEST.
