HORACE SILVER and THE JAZZ MESSENGERS        Blue Note BLP 1518
Up for auction is a 1962 (probably) Blue Note Monophonic P-pressing of the Horace Silver and The Jazz Messengers classic self titled lp. Quintessential hard-bop session featuring Kenny Dorham, Hank Mobley, Art Blakey and Doug Watkins. The very same lineup that performed on those wonderful live Cafe Bohemia recordings. Essential hard-bop classic featuring "The Preacher".
DEAD WAX INFO:  Side 1 has BN-LP-1518-A-1 etched into the dead wax. Side 2 has BN-LP-1518-B- etched into the dead wax. Both sides have the Plastylite P (ear), RVG and 9 M etched into the dead wax. Early 60s P-pressing with 47 West 63rd labels, deep groove on Side 2 only.
VINYL VISUAL: VG+ with some paper-storage mottling and some very light marking. Well preserved. Could possibly use a cleaning for best play. Labels show moderate play, but have a wee bit of soiling.
VINYL PLAY GRADE: VG+ and better with EXCELLENT monophonic fidelity. Great listening lp, even better with a good cleaning.
COVER VISUAL: VG and maybe a bit better on this original West 63rd frame cover, downgraded due to general seam, spine and corner wear, as well as some minor ball-point pen writing and chipping front cover (See pictures).
Comes with original Blue Note printed paper inner of the era (nice with seam splits). Vinyl is housed in an Audiophile style rice plastic inner.
PLEASE READ FOR DETAILS ON SELLER AND SHIPPING
HELLO ALL. My name is Jamie, and I have been collecting records steadily for over 45 years.  After a bit of a respite from selling on Ebay, I am back and will be selling a ton of stuff over the next few years. My tastes run all over the map, so there will be something for everyone. All opened items will be visually AND aurally graded. All Dead Wax info will be listed. Play grade is done on a Thorens TD 165 through Yamaha amplification and JBL reference headphones (treble set high so there will be no surprises when you get the item).
ALL ITEMS WILL BE SHIPPED WITH PROPER MAILERS AND EXTRA PADDING, PARTICULARLY AT THE CORNERS. I HAVE MADE FAR TOO MANY PURCHASES ON EBAY WHERE THE ITEM HAS ARRIVED WITH DINGED CORNERS DUE TO INADEQUATE PACKAGING MATERIAL. BY USING FOLDED BUBBLE WRAP IN ALL FOUR CORNERS, YOU CAN BE ASSURED OF AN ITEM WITHOUT DINGED CORNERS (OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND FOR THAT MATTER).             Non-tracked shipping throughout the U.S.A will be $13 CANADIAN per item, as will tracked shipping within Canada. Tracked shipping to the U.S.A. will be $16 CANADIAN for items under 500g, and slightly more for items over 500g. Most single sleeve items can be shipped as under 500g. Gatefolds and multi-sets will be over 500g.
Being a reasonable person, I will be absorbing ALL of the shipping material cost, and some of the actual postage cost.
If you have issue with an item, PLEASE work with me to achieve an outcome that will be to your satisfaction. I do offer full refunds (excluding cost to get it back to me), on any item that is not satisfactory.       SINCE SHIPPING OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE (Thank You Canada Post), I will rarely list gatefolds or multi-items for sale overseas. IF ANYONE OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS CRAZY INTERESTED IN ANY ITEM, I WILL QUOTE SHIPPING ON REQUEST. Since a lot of the stuff that I will be selling is of higher end quality, rarely will things be offered overseas. Sorry folks. Again, I can consider requests on an item-by-item basis. THANKS FOR READING, everyone.       Occasionally I will be selling rare and collectible CDs. Shipping obviously will be much less, around $5 CANADIAN within North America.
