Halloween is coming early this year! Errr… actually, I guess last year’s Halloween has come a little late! Five months later than anticipated, Eccentric Pop and Ghost Party Records are FINALLY ready to unleash a brand new slab of wax from horror-pop-punk powerhouse HORROR SECTION upon the unsuspecting masses!
Horror Section “Season of the Witch” 7” comes on the heels of last year’s already-out-of-print split LP with Eaten Back to Life and will be followed in a few months by a split 10” with Dan Vapid and Cheats. This band keeps getting bigger and bigger, and shows no sign of slowing down. For the few of you left who are not yet in the know… they’ve been likened to a punk rock soundtrack to a drive-in slasher flick – a toxic sonic sludge of equal parts Ramones and Freddy Krueger.
“Season of the Witch” is something of a concept-record – a tribute to the often underappreciated, always underestimated horror classic Halloween III. The record comes in three jacket variants, based on masks from the film, and each variant contains a corresponding color vinyl. The first pressing is only 300 copies – 100 copies of each cover / color variant – and will likely sell out during pre-order. As we have watched the buzz grow around this band and this release, we realize we should have made more of these, but we realized it too late, and this thing is destined to sell out fast.
