Description

The six-piece KXYZ Novelty Band was based in Houston Texas, and

was actually a pick-up group heard playing at an automobile dealer's

exposition by an RCA rep, and later signed to do a recording session.


On January 29, 1935 they made eight sides, recorded  in "nothing

more than the living room of a tumble down house at the outskirts of

town (San Antonio)."


Despite the shoddy environment, the music was outstanding. On this

78rpm buff label Bluebird 5832, they do "I Never Knew" and "Basin

Street Blues."


The record is in excellent-plus (E+) condition and is in the original

Bluebird sleeve.
