Ohne Hound Dog Taylor hätte es 'Alligator Records' wohl nie gegeben. Bruce Iglauer arbeitete für 'Delmark' und konnte seinen damaligen Chef nicht von der Qualität eines Hound Dog Taylor überzeugen und so nahm Iglauer die Sache in die Hand und gründete 'Alligator Records' mit einem Blueser: Hound Dog Taylor.

"Hound Dog Taylor & The HouseRockers" (1971) und "Natural Boogie" (1973) waren die ersten beiden Studio-Veröffentlichungen auf Alligator.
"Beware Of The Dog" war dann das erste Live-Album von Hound Dog Taylor, das posthum 1976 auf den Markt kam.

Absolut fantastische Heavy-Psych-Blues-LP mit einer Prise Funk und Rock.
