Howlin’ Wolf- Rockin’ Chair Vinyl (LP-1469) 1962, BLACK CHESS LABEL- RARE. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Media Mail.
1st pressing of Howlin’ Wolf’s “Rockin’ Chair” album, with the black Chess label. This record has been cleaned, tested, and graded conservatively with as much adherence to the Goldmine grading system. The record is graded as being VG. On first glance, the record looks very clean but a closer inspection reveals light marks on the LP, most of which are pictured (I can only have 12 pics). However, all these marks play through nicely and mostly don’t cause any interruptions on the album. There is a very small warp to the album but it doesn’t affect play at all and was too minimal to photograph but I just wanted to make note of that. The album itself has a low background crackle to it through the whole album, but is mostly noticeable during the break between one song and another. I took note of any tracks that had anything outside of light background crackle. “The Red Rooster” has crackle that is marginally more noticeable than the other tracks, and has two or three small clicks. “Spoonful” has a faint click near the end of the track. “Going Down Slow” has a light click, and there is a pop between the transition of “Back Door Man” and “Howlin’ For My Baby”. All in all, this album sounds really nice and most of the noise isn’t noticeable, but is conservatively graded at VG. Cover is also a conservative VG. There is some visible wear on the front and back, and some of the corners are either bent or creased (pictured). There is a faint stain near the left leg of the rocking chair that goes down to the bottom of the cover, and there is a minimal dent on the middle of the spine.
