Moving Sale of Personal Record Collection

Up for sale is my personal record recollection.  The purchase of this collection in one lot is FINAL with no refunds or partial refunds and requires pickup in the Tampa Bay area (Wesley Chapel).  I will provide boxes and bubble wrap for the pickup.

I cannot individually list each LP and 45, including grading and description, and therefore, provide descriptions at large.  I have tried my best to be as accurate and transparent as possible in providing this description.  Having said this, I ask that all bidders do their due diligence before making an offer.

Over the years, my general collection strategy has been to retain items that I thought may be at least a little bit collectible (open for interpretation).  For items relatively hard to find (e.g. Strangeloves – I Want Candy), I would usually consider keeping the item if it graded at VG- or better (there could be just a few G+ LPs).  This is not to say that all or most of the rare collectible items will be at this grade, but rather that I generally had a lower threshold for keeping such items.  Many of the more common items, and well as many of the collectible LPs, will grade VG+ or higher with some grading at Near Mint.

The collection is heavy on LPs from the late 1950s through mid-1970s, including mostly rock, pop, soul and R & B, and a few jazz LPs or LPs from other genres.  There are a small percentage of LPs outside this range into the 1980s and 1990s, and a small percentage of all of the LPs are promotional.

Specific comments related to pictures of the LPs are provided below.  There is a total of 780 LPs for sale.  This is followed by description of the collection of 45s,which is quite different than the description of the LPs.  In general, the pictures show what I believe to be some of the more collectible items.

The LPs from the Rolling Stones collection generally grade in the range of VG+ or better; a few are on the London red label; and the “England’s Newest Hitmaker does not include the photo listed on the cover.

The LPs in the stacks next to the wall (total of 630) generally represent the “at least little bit collectible” described above.  The pictures of individual LPs(rather than collections) highlight what I believe to generally be the more collectible items.

The 3 boxes of LPs (150 LPs in total) are considered “ordinary” LPs, generally in very good condition, and simply provided for overall listening pleasure.  Some sample artists include Jackson Browne, Jimmy Buffett, Harry Chapin, Doobie Brothers, Elton John, REO Speedwagon, Rod Stewart, etc. 

The collection of 45s was purchased a few years ago in a single lot from a former radio station DJ. A quick tabulation by counting the number of 45s in one of the seven boxes indicates that the collection has more than 2,000 individual 45s.  A large percentage of these 45s are from the years 1970 to 1977 with a fairly heavy emphasis on Motown and possibly a few Northern Soul.  In addition,I believe that 50% or more of these 45s are listed as “promotional” as they were delivered to the radio station.  A small percentage of the 45s are from the 1950s and 1960s, including some that are potentially quite collectible.  However, the condition of these 45s is generally lower than that of the large set of 45s from the 1970s, including some that could grade as G+ or better.  However, I have tried to not retain anything that would be considered of Poor quality and essentially unplayable.
