Description

Human Arts Ensemble-"Under the Sun" LP. Simply put, this is one of my favorite albums and if I really didn't need the $$, I would never let this piece of vinyl leave my sight. This Human Arts Ensemble 1974 album features a collaboration between, among others, Art Ensemble of Chicago's Lester Bowie and the Black Artist Group(BAG)'s Charles Bobo Shaw and Oliver Lake(later in World Sax Quartet). Released on the BAG's Universal Peace label and limited to 1000 copies, this album swings while delving deeply into the ossifying and abstract world of avant-garde jazz(all under the auspices of a social justice agenda).
