TITLE: Human Instinct featuring Billy T.K. '69 - '71
CONDITION:
Box: Beautiful Mint- w/ just a whisper of scuffing on the front cover. All hinges are sharp & intact and attached.
Record: All the LP's retain high original gloss but they all have light sleeve storage scuffing from being stored in their original black glossy inner sleeves. They all play Mint- and by the spindle hole it looks like these LP's may have been played once or twice / VPI cleaned.
COMMENTS: This limited edition (only 500 made) three LP box set was released in Germany in 1988 is a repackage of the legendary New Zealand heavy rock/Psych band's first three albums, "Burning Up Years" (1969), "Stoned Guitar" (1970), and "Pins In It" (1971. It comes with a very informative and nicely presented eight page 12" X 12" book, which details the band's career and the story behind the release of this box set. It's also in excellent condition. All three albums feature the amazing, heavily Hendrix influenced guitar talents of the legendary BILLY T.K.
1) BURNING UP THE YEARS - Classy trippy progressive Hendrix like heavy acid blues prog rock from the later line-up of the New Zealand band who briefly settled in the UK in the late '60s. This early '70's album features compositions by the legendary Jesse Harper (who made a similar and rare acid rock album) as well as a storming version of "You Really Got Me" by The Kinks. Killer acid guitar work!
2) PINS IN It - Before going back to NZ in the early '70s to join up with Mauri guitarist Billy T.K. Incredible Hendrix like heavy prog/blues psych with lashings of acid fried guitar and a superb cover version of Floyd's "Nile Song". Simply brilliant!
3) STONED GUITAR - As the title suggests, this is an album of heavy psychedelic bluesy guitar playing that draws heavily on Jimi Hendrix influences, featuring some particularly wild playing from Billy TK. The title track is a real monster with wild phased,fuzz guitars
NOTE: VPI cleaned means that this record was cleaned on a professional $500 cleaning machine, which does wonders for the playback of all vinyl records!
