Description

For sale is Humble Pie's Thunderbox, originally released in 1974 by A&M Records. In the dead wax between the label and the last track are the matrix numbers P-1/P-2 indicating that an early stamper was used in making this first edition. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it away into a MFSL protective inner sleeve. This preserves the integrity of any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the record. It has the original die-cut "keyhole" cover that was banned because of the bathing beauties on the inner sleeves that were exposed by the "keyhole". The cover is graded as VG+ because of corner blunts, edge wear, stress cracks along the edges and a corner crease. The spine has a little color loss from these rubs. The vinyl is visually graded as VG+ because of sleeve marks and some minor surface scratches. I'm play grading it between VG+ and Excellent because of some low level surface noise, most noticeable between tracks and during quiet passages.  It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I've owned it and still has a lot of life yet. This is one of the best copies that I have ever seen or heard and you would be hard pressed to find one in this condition, being that it has become so very rare. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection.  I have a lot more Rock records as well as albums of all different genres listed in my Ebay store. Please take a look as they are almost  all Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing.    I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
