how records are sent
Records are sent out in record mailers with bubblewrap or cardboard for added protection.
Records are removed from the covers in order to prevent seam-splits in transit, except still sealed condition.

how records are graded
Records are condition graded visually in accordance with record collector's grading system as follows:

Mint (M)
The record is in brand new or sealed condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. We would only list a record as mint if it were unplayed or sealed.
The cover is in perfect condition.

Near Mint (NM)
The record is in "as new" condition but may have been played a small number of times. There would be no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.
The cover should be near perfect with only very minimal wear and tear.

Excellent (EX)
The record shows some signs of having being played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. There may be the odd light mark or hairline  mark producing the odd light crackle or tick, but no skips or jumps.
The cover might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good (VG)
The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratch. There will be no skips or jumps.
Normal wear and tear on the cover, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good (G)
The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.
The cover suffers from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration etc.
