For sure one of the very best Italian 60's beat albums (well, honestly, there aren't many!) But this one is sure a little masterpiece. The Kings were from Verona; they play an astonishing mixture of classic beat (with total absence of low key, boring POP) and rhythm'n'blues that quite often includes some excellent guitar solo and freakbeat passages. Though many compositions are sung in Italian it is not disturbing at all for the non italian language listener but there are anyway some excellent tracks sung in English. The album is a mixture of original tracks and cover versions. Among these deserve a mention their rendition of Rolling Stones' Time Is On My Side and Of The Hook, Dylan's If You Gotta Go, Go Now and Blowing In The Wind and especially a FANTASTIC versions of She's Not There by The Zombies! not to forgotten their version of the classic Italian beat tune Io ho in mente te that became famous sung by the Equipe 84. A great classic album not to be missed by any 60's true music lover!
Classico album di beat/Rhythm'n'Blues degli anni '60, i Kings di Verona, spettacolare fusione di brani originali e di cover di artisti quali Dylan, Rolling Stones e Zombies. Scrivetemi se desiderate qualsiasi chiarimento o dettaglio, specie sulle condizioni che, per brevità, illustro solo in inglese!
CONDITIONS:
COVER: Well, this is not a mint copy for sure, but it is really worth buying (and listening!) i'll describe teh cover as a STRONG VG, no seriuos or obvious damage like tears, writings (NO WRITINGS on my records unless stated) or (odf course) missing pieces. Front cover is just not animore bright and glossy as it probably was in 1966. Back cover has some obvious but still absolutely minor yellowing on bottom and bottom left corner, spine is intact, no seam splits!
RECORDS: The record is visually VG with several abrasions and marks none of which too deep. This is not of course an "ashtray album" is just a bit worn and heavily played. Of course I did listen the album twice from the beginning to the end, it plays absolutely nice VG conditions; it has two-three more obvious pops (NO SKIPS) on the first track of the B-side, the rest plays beautifully with some background noise among the tracks in the silent parts but the songs are enjoyable and the noise is not disturbing.

Registered airmail up to one kilo from Italy is still quite cheap, basically around £ 8. Faster or safer postage methods are of course available at cost.
