Description
Ian A. Anderson - Book Of Changes (UK - Fontana STL4452 - 1970) Ex-/Ex - cover graded first.
Lovely condition copy of this acid folk classic, the first where Anderson had changed direction from straight folk-blues to something more exotic.
Released in March 1970 the week distributors Phillips/Phonogram changed their ordering system to a computerised one, which had a few teething problems, and as a result this album got lost in the changeover, selling barely 200 copies.
Anderson is joined on this album by a wonderful collection of talent including guitarist Al Jones (later to record for the Village Thing label), Keith Christmas, Bob Rowe (from bristol blues legends The Deep), Jon Turner (from the Pigsty Hill Light Orchestra), the mysterious 'Mox' on flute and Bob Hall (from Brunning-Sunflower Blues Band/Savoy Brown/The Groundhogs) on piano amongst others.
It is signed by Anderson on the back cover (see image).
Tracklisting is : Edges / Internal Combustion Rag / Anthem / Stop And Listen / Sleepy Lynne / Number 61 / Paint It Black / Mouse Hunt / Put It In A Frame / Book Of Changes / Galactic Wings (and other tales) / De 12-Bore Blues.
Fully laminated cover is clean and shiny with a couple of very faint 'half moon' creases on the right hand side, but these don't detract from the overall look (see image). Black and silver Fontana labels are clean with only a faint spindle trace on one side. No writing or other marks. Vinyl is clean and shiny and free from any marks - a lovely copy !
The record will be sent in a plastic sleeve with the disc removed to avoid any seam splits during shipping. It will be packed in a strong cardboard mailer with extra cardboard either side for added protection. Bid with confidance !. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check my other items. Good Luck !.
