DEBUT SOLO album from Ian Gillan, the former lead vocalist with Deep Purple, showcasing a more challenging aspect of jazzy progish rock but allowing the music to breath with earthy vibes. The title track for instance, a cover of the DP chestnut, is a marriage of trad prog but at the lighter end of jazz rock. The album is very well recorded and showcases an ear for melody over technology and whilst some of the time signatures may jump from pillar to post the main focuss is almost entirely concerned with a need to impress rather than dazzle.

Guitarist Colin Townes shines brightly injecting much expertise and sounds of an alltogether impressive nature. In fact, all the players here (esp drummer Mark Nauseef) contribute exacting and exciting chops throughout. Hats off to Gillan, the man, whose vocals are wonderfully expressive and still very much on track following his Deep Purple tenure.

Issued in athick gatefold cover with obi strip and lyric insert. Ian has neatly autographed the front cover!

Vinyl: Beautiful unplayed condition. One lone spindle mark on labels but no other signs of any use. Grades as shop fresh MINT-!

Cover: Again, practically no signs of use. Housed in a thick cardboard cover - retaining original printers bloom - with Obi strip fully intact. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no split seams, no ring wear and no creases. Beautiful and impossible to find like this after 37 years. Grades as MINT-!
