This first UK pressing plays with stunning quality on both sides with only one intrusion, namely one light background click on S2. However, it has to be said that the clarity, depth and warmth of the audio here is incredible and it is not far off 'as new'. I cannot emphasise enough how well it plays - it was recorded 'loud' and is one of the finest Vertigo records I have ever listened to. It has a more commercial sound than his previous release and like I say sounds fantastic! The vinyl is in excellent condition also.
The cover has been so well preserved and grades as Near Mint such is the quality, it has no obvious wear and has retained its original shape and structure perfectly. It does not include the original Vertigo inner sadly but the Plastic Bags... inner is in very good condition.

Visual description
The vinyl is in excellent condition and still has a strong glossy sheen with no marks or scratches. Under a bright light I can only see some faint hairlines, slightly more on S2 maybe, but they are of course superficial. There is no groove or surface wear and the Vertigo labels are unmarked and have only a little spindle wear.
Play grading
'Never Again' plays with wonderful audio from the word go. The intro and opening vocal are 'as new' - there is an exceptional clarity of sound and this quality is prevalent throughout. The instrumental a case in point - amazing sound quality! Great production and it just could not play any better. Even the fade out and 'laugh' have no background. The definitive Mint version.
The intro on 'Close The Door Lightly When You Go' has a couple of barely audible statics and the first vocal section is 100% perfect. The following chorus is just as impressive and it continues in the same precise way. A couple more background statics but easily deserving of a Mint- grade.
'Unamerican Activity Dream' is near perfect with just one light click during the vocal after the mid instrumental. Incidentally this instrumental is superb, almost progressive in nature it plays with STUNNING quality. A great track that is lyrically very strong. Near Mint
The acoustic intro on 'Morning Song' plays with clinical precision and Matthews' opening vocal is equal to that. From then on - no background not even a dust tick. The audio is breathtaking, it honestly sounds like you are listening to a new record. Mint
'The Only Dancer' ends the side with unrivalled quality once more. A perfect Mint version! And superb accordion work!

The intro on 'Tigers Will Survive' plays perfectly as does the opening vocal section and the quiet instrumental that follows plays so clearly with only a small number of very quiet insignificant statics. The next vocal has no background and the closing instrumental that is again quiet has very little static and only a couple of minor ticks. Near Mint
The quiet intro on 'Midnight On The Water' plays with stunning clarity and the first vocal is more or less the same with only one minor static. From then on it plays without fault and again sonically it is outstanding. The final vocal is faultless and the quiet end section has only a couple of minor statics. Superb audio and easily a Mint- version. 'Right Before My Eyes' is as good as new without any background. 10/10 clarity and depth to match. Mint
A unique acapella version of 'Da Doo Ron Ron' and it plays with incredible clarity and definition with... zero background. Another Mint track.
The opening vocal on 'Hope You Know' plays beautifully and there is just one light static as the music briefly pauses. From then onwards it plays with STUNNING quality - one minor static that is all but seriously it could hardly play any better. Mint-
'Please Be My Friend' begins perfectly and it proceeds in the same way. Once again the clarity and warmth of the audio is the star of the show - this is one incredibly well preserved vinyl! Every vocal and instrumental section plays with crystal clear audio, I cannot fault it. As stated a much more accessible 'sound' and a Mint conclusion to this fine Vertigo album.
The Gatefold & Inner Sleeve
The cover is in superb condition with hardly any wear. The edges are so clean and the spine is still wide and strong with only the bare minimum of corner wear. The other corners have only light wear and the opening edge at the top is near perfect. The front cover is stunning and you can only see a couple of the minor corner rubs and the back cover is just as impressive. The inside of the gatefold is again so clean with only one very small scuff on the right panel. Not far from being the perfect cover truth be told!
The poly-lined Plastic Bags... inner sleeve (dated 1072) has no side splits or tears but does have some age related fading / marking around the edges and the poly-lining is also a little loose. It has only minimal creasing.

Postage & Packaging
I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
