Please see my other listings for more U.K. Island LPs

COVER – G+

-ring-wear and disc imprint to front and back

-excellent seams; rubbing to spine has caused illegibility of catalog number (group name is still visible).

-6-inch crease in the bottom right corner (front)

-the words ‘E.J. Day’ and ‘London’ have rubbed away from the bottom right edge of the rear sleeve.

Printed and made by the E.J. Day Group, London & Bedford.

VINYL –

Visual –

Side 1 – VG minus

Side 2 – G+

Playback – Play-tested from start to finish in headphones.

Side 1 – VG minus and much better – Mild crackle audible at the beginning of the side. 1 pop can be heard during the guitar solo in T2, in addition to two further pops at the top of T3. As with many pink Island issues, some mild distortion can be heard on the vocals at the end of T3 (final verse).

Side 2G+ and much better – Crackle is most audible during the opening section of T3, as the overall level of the program material drops to allow for a greater dynamic build throughout the tune. 1 pop can be heard in the first verse of T4 and, as expected, some mild distortion can be heard in the left channel closer to the end of the track.

LABELS – VG+

-a few short spindle lines at center slots.

GRADING  (Record Collector Standard, U.K.)

The highest grade used in these listings is NM (Near Mint), but items are rarely ever graded higher than EX+. I consider that VG and even G graded items should still be of high quality, both visually and sonically.

Virtually all records will be completely play-graded from start to finish. It is not possible to denote every occurrence of minor background crackle, but any unnerving clicks/ pops, sticks, jumps and/ or high-midrange distortion (groove-wear) will be carefully noted.

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Un-played should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
