IGGY AND THE STOOGES 1988 Metallic 2 x K.O. 2-LP 1st Press France Punk Pic Sleeve EX Nice copy of the punk classic Metallic 2 K.O. This is a live recording subtitled "Open Up and Bleed" that contains live portions of the last ever Iggy Pop and the Stooges show at the Michigan Palace, Detroit, Michigan in February 1974. Vinyl is clean with high gloss. Not many of these out there of this quality. Several factors make this a punk rock classic. First, the show itself was legendary because of the level of violence unleashed on the band by the audience, instigated by Iggy's vulgar crowd-baiting. Second, the liner notes inside the gatefold by Lester Bangs are vintage Bangs: "Crass, conceited, vulgar and quite unique ... the only rock album I know where you can actually hear hurled beer bottles breaking against guitar strings." Third, the sound engineering was remarkably lo-fi. The album was recorded on reel-to-reel and was considered a "semi-official" bootleg when initially released in 1976. The final master has a raw immediacy that includes crowd sounds, distortion and extraneous noise that puts you in the thick of the action. Fourth, the songs include Stooges classics (Raw Power, I Wanna Be Your Dog) plus previously unreleased material, and an unforgettable cover of Louie Louie.. Fifth, this record comes with the original photo inner sleeves depicting Iggy in all his glory. All in all, a superb offering and a must for all Iggy/punk fans.

Record Grading
(S) SEALED: Never opened.
(M) MINT: Vinyl is new and unplayed. Only sealed records are graded Mint.
(NM) NEAR MINT: Vinyl is nearly perfect and shows no obvious signs of wear. Cover has no creases, writing, seam splits or significant wear.
(EX) EXCELLENT: Vinyl may have a sleeve scuff or two but looks and plays like a nearly-new record. Cover looks great and shows almost no signs of handling. This is a nice keeper copy.
(VG) VERY GOOD to (VG+) VERY GOOD PLUS: Vinyl shows a bit more wear and/or sleeve scuffs. It might crackle, pop or click in places, but the surface noise does not overwhelm the music. Cover shows slightly greater use, such as ring wear, soft corners,split seams, etc. This is a nice play copy.
(G) GOOD: Vinyl has defects that might produce significant surface noise. Cover has more than normal wear and tear.
(P) POOR: Vinyl and/or cover is in very rough shape. Valued usually as a placeholder until a better copy is located.
