Description
The Stooges formed in 1967, and since then, lead singer Iggy Pop has never looked back! The band was pioneers of garage and punk. The Stooges influenced countless other artists through the years, and Iggy Pop has even become one of rock's elder statesmen. Iggy worked with David Bowie during a glam rock phase, in the early 70s. The Stooges released their third studio album, a little over FIFTY years ago, in 1973. And Bowie mixed the original version! They titled it 'Raw Power', and it was the last Stooges studio album until 2007's 'The Weirdness'!
In 2020, Cleopatra Records released a 12" picture disc, with rare and unreleased tracks from the 'Raw Power' sessions. Calling it 'Iggy and the Stooges: More Power-A Gorgeous Picture Disc', it's ELEVEN tracks of hardcore Stooges rare tunes! There's even a cover of a Beatles song: "Money (That's What I Want)"!
The A side is a shirtless Iggy Pop, clutching a microphone. The B side is a bleach-blond Iggy, in a pink tee-shirt and jeans! There are two inserts, and they contain more pics, song titles, and credits. They also dedicate this record to the Asheton brothers, who have both passed away. (RIP Ron, Scott, and original Stooge Dave Alexander. You three helped start a musical revolution, and a style of rock that is still seen to this very day!)
The vinyl looks new, and is still all shiny and clean. The original PVC jacket has splits on all three sides (as so many have). The inserts are immaculate. A very cool Iggy and the Stooges vinyl collectible, on a modern picture disc record, and ready to come home with you today. Tick off the neighbors and frighten the pets with vintage Stooges music! Just remember to play it loud!!
