Flexible paper with light and clean lamination, shows the following defetcs:

FRONT COVER: vertical tear professionally restored from under the word "JAZZ" down to the left and stopping on the bass in the background, in the picture: the crease resulting from the restoration is hardly visible, ca. 23 cm. long; corners show minimal wear on edges.

SEAMS & SPINE: Thin spine in excellent condition with no creases.

Top seam in excellent condition, lower seam shows little wear, but overall is very difficult to find a soft cover like this with seams and spine so well preserved.

BACK COVER: quite clean, with very light ring wear, lamination doesn't show any pealing, clear and clean. Upper e lower flipback seams are in excellent condition. Please, look at my cover scans.

Vinyl :   VG + visual/ VG aural

The beautiful vinyl visually shows a few signs and some rubs on both sides, but NO one can be detected with the  fingernail. Aurally the overall sound reveals some background noise, especially in low passages, mostly due to the scarce vinyl pressing of the '50s. (Carisch pressed poorly the few copies produced. Moreover, all the copies I've heard, including my personal one, present the same low background noise, despite the shiny and brilliant vinyl).

Catalogue/Label :

LP CARISCH TCA 15301, 1st original mono Italian only pressing.

Wood green labels with silver lettering show no wear, but a little black spot is present on side 2 near the spindle hole. A few little marks are visible around the spindle hole, on both labels. Please, look at my label scans.

GRADING CODE

Grading is VISUAL, under a bright light. 

        NM  (Near Mint): Record has been opened, and probably played, but is in impeccable condition. I do not use "mint".

EX   (Excellent): Has signs of use or storage, but still considered top collection quality. Jackets may display some very light wear; vinyl may have a few light sleeve marks only visible in the highest light. Sound will full and clear, with little if any noise (NOTE, some records are just pressed poorly).

VG+ (Very Good Plus): Still a great copy but has a bit more wear. Vinyl may have some light scuffs or scratches, but nothing deep. Jacket may have some ringwear or seamwear. Sound should be great, with minimal if any noise.

VG  Very Good): A great play copy but clearly used. Vinyl will display many hairline scuffs or scratches, but will play with a tolerable amount of noise. Jacket may have splits and wear but will not be falling apart.

VG-(Very Good Minus): A used or worn copy, that has not been taken good care of. Vinyl will have many scuffs or scratches, but play through enjoyably despite audible background noise. Covers will have tears, splits, writing, or other issues. 

VG+ Fair, Poor: A very rough copy. Will play through without skipping unless otherwise noted, although records of this grade are sold AS-IS.
