CROWN RECORDS LP 367 (says STEREO, but is a mixture of stereo and mono recordings.)

Spare parts section! If you have a nice sleeve for this boppin' jivin' classic R&B/doowop platter, and need a better disc, here 'tis...

Scorchin' hot, moody, surprisingly melodic down-low R&B guitar workouts, contrasted with toe-tappin' New Orleans-style swaggering vocals, make up this intense bargain-basement LP. Hear its opening track, "Hey, Miss Tina," right here:

Condition:

JACKET: Crown's sleeves were the cheapest in the biz, made of flimsy thin cardboard and poorly printed. Time tends to not be kind to their product. This sleeve has a 98% split seam, holding on by a hair's breadth at its top and bottom. Cover was cut off-center, but Fazzio's idealized painting of Ike is still somewhat attractive.

Back cover has rubwear and age discoloration. It's a FAIR to GOOD- sleeve.

VINYL: A Crown LP is always a sonic crap-shoot. Within the same side, vinyl and recording quality can vary. This one's no exception, but it's clean vinyl. A few pressing flaws--Crown just didn't care--but the sound is rich and full, even when it goes off into dodgy stereos-ville!

Despite being a Crown LP release, this 50 year-old vinyl is great listening, and, by my modest appraisal, is a solid VG+.

This is just one of a special collection of great, collectable and musically wonderful 1960s LPs! They're all from the legendary collection of DAVID A. YOUNG! Grab ‘em before they’re gone—you won’t see their likes again!
