Description
Chess 1458. Historical record. Considered by many music historians as the very first Rock & Roll record. There was another recently auctioned on E-Bay. Look it up and there is wonderful history of the making of this record, and if you notice, sold for $150.00. This one has much better labels. Dark area on label is my shadow, sorry. I think a fair grade for this record is Vg- (see note below).
I have played the record and both sides play well with moderate surface noise with a few ticks now and then. B side has a little better fidelity than "88" side. Both sides have a variety of scuffs and scratches, and some that can be felt, but still has moderate gloss to both sides. There are no chips or cracks whatsover. The labels are fantastic. Hardly no wear with just a little wear around the spindle hole. This would be a great addition to the advanced collector. Not many of these out there. Here's your chance to have a nice copy. Thanks for bidding and good luck.
Note: I originally graded this as VG for a 78, opposed to VG- for a 45. That is a little too confusing. I will grade all records the same in the future. Sorry for any inconvenience. Thank you.
