•Other Info: Ys by Il Balletto di Bronzo is an absolute masterpiece of Italian prog rock. But this is not prog rock in the vein of, say, PFM or Banco; it’s more in line with Semiramis. Ys is hard ‘n’ heavy, psych-tinged prog, with slashing fuzzed guitars, eerie organ, Mellotron, and Moog synth, plus the voice of Gianni Leone with its breathtaking range and delivery. If you like your music dark and intense, this is for you. Usually gets listed within the top ten or so Italian prog rock albums, and with good reason—you need this like you need air to breathe! Ys was originally released in 1972 on Polydor. This is the Korean Polydor reissue and exactly reproduces the original Italian press: it comes in a gatefold cover that includes the 4-page booklet glued into the inside cover. In addition, it comes with an insert.
