'Surf Rider', pinpointed among fans for its creeping blend of atmos and synth-led downtempo, exemplified not just Il Est Vilaine's unique style but that of the singular taste of releasing label Dialect. Lumiere were already known in 2015 for enabling artistic freedom, all whilst holding firm to the emission of unblockable audio signals from their native Paris. Il Est Vilaine, meanwhile, laid down this four-track iron stallion shortly after their Dialect Debut 'Scandale'. Circular, sprung guitar plucks and mystery basslines confer a slinky mood, as newcomer Blackly reinterprets the second of the original three tunes on a stimulant B2.
