THIS IS A TRULY FINE SET FROM 1952, 1953, 4 TUNES FEATURE BASIE ON ORGAN WHICH MAKES FOR A SUPERBLY SWINGING OUTING WITH THE AMAZINGLY POWERFUL JACQUET BLOWING IN FINE FORM. THE TUNES MOST PENNED BY JACQUET HAVE A NICE LATIN TOUCH BUT NEVER STRAY FAR FROM STRAIGHT AHEAD SWINGING OF THE ERA.
The record is in excellent condition, full shine with perfect black trumpeter label, it would be new mint but for a couple of small hairline scratches that don't intrude but are there.
The sleeve is also excellent the front is truly fine, nice color no chipping and no entry splitting, the spine has some chipping and the back is very good except for some yellowing on the entry side and three small dot marks in the upper right corner. There really is no ring wear at all.
This is an excellent collectors disc, original norman granz clef, it plays beautifully (I am listening to it right now).
I listen to the entire record before I list, I am a fair grader and my system is unforgiving, I use an ortophon 2 red with an audio-technica 1240, a marantz pm 5005 and bowers and wilkins speakers, little escapes unheard). Before you purchase a record from me I want you to know exactly what you are getting.
I am including not including the original inner sleeve it was the clef glycine junk, I have placed the disc in a MOFI anti-scratch, anti-static master sleeve.
