Description
ONLY A FEW very prominent artists of the '20s - e.g., Paul Whiteman, Ted Lewis, Rudy Vallée - were popular enough to rate their own custom "Picture" labels. Evidently, OKeh records thought enough of crooner SEGER ELLIS to (briefly!) award him a picture label of his own in 1929. This is a fine and very clean example:
"I'M A DREAMER, AREN'T WE ALL?" and "IF I HAD A TALKING PICTURE OF YOU."
There's an exceptional accompanying band, mostly on "Talking Picture," including jazzers PHIL NAPOLEON (trumpet) / HOAGY CARMICHAEL (piano) / EDDIE LANG (guitar) and MIKE TRAFFICANTE (bass). All are heard from in and around Ellis' vocal, especially Trafficante, who picks a mean pizzicato!
This original 1929 OKeh Electric 41321 is in clean E condition - some little pops do sound - and the label is quite intact, including much of the silver surface.

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will! Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.” I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
