Purists might disdain it for incorporating musical elements like varied tempos and fragments of melody, but who cares what the basement dwellers think? The greatness of this album lies in its ability to be relentlessly dark without being monochromatic, and overwhelmingly ferocious without hiding behind a wall of chaotic noise. Killer riffs abound, and they are used to create actual songs. Immortal not only sustains the enveloping icy atmosphere that they've practically patented, but somehow expands that feeling to the point you believe it could swallow the world. "In My Kingdom Cold," indeed. Along with that highlight, other personal favorites include "One by One," "Tyrants," and deep cut "Beyond the North Waves," but every song here is crushing and grandiose in all the best ways. Here is a chance to own a copy of a very rare and desirable 1 st press album. Not many do come up for sale at all. This one is esp. for the supreme vinyl a superb upgrade/archive copy.
Musically haunting, some strange melodies and great improvisations. This has long been a connoisseurs black metal album and is of course highly sought after. Extremely hard to find and only ever seen one copy before and not even in the same class or league as this stunning example. These pure black metal albums are hard to find like this on vinyl as CD was still riding high! An upgrade for sure!

IT WILL BE A LONG TIME BEFORE THIS TURNS UP AGAIN WITH AGAIN MORE TAKERS THAN EVER BEFORE. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT INVESTMENT PIECE.
Vinyl: EX+ to NM. A sublime vinyl with fantastic sound reproduction. Barely played (unplayed?) and well cared for album and a fantastic upgrade for this ultra collectable title. No marks, no hairlines. Still looks gleaming and glossy. First press matrices and mother stampers. I have played this in full on my premium sound system (LINN SONDEK, B&W, ARCAM) and the stereo sound is simply supreme and this plays with strong gusto. NO skips, jumps crackle etc. This will be a fantastic item for most long time psych/blues/prog collectors! A true upgrade.
Sleeve: EX. The sleeve has only very light wear, the spine is fully intact and legible. The opening is super crisp. The original insert is still there and fully intact without creases. The pictures give a true representation of the album and are part of the description.
This is a unique investment opportunity!!! The next black metal album to go completely through the roof. Finding this album in any condition at all is nearly impossible so late in the day.
