DETAILS OF CONDITION.

I have attempted to photograph any imperfections although mostly minor correctly/accurately to avoid disappointment.

NO RIPS!

RECORD COVER:

Generally very good considering its age. In the bottom left hand corner there is what seems to be a very small biro mark which I have photographed, next to this is an original label mark from the shop the record was first bought (barely visible).

Hardly any wear, slight wear mark near left nostril.

INNER COVER:

Excellent to very good, truly stunning for its age and almost faultless.

BACK COVER:

There is a very slight indentation that can be seen under direct light. This looks like the mark made from someone leaning on the record whilst writing on a piece of paper, it is a barely noticeable embossing.

Slight ring blemish from edge of internal record (as pictured).

SPINE:

It is in Okay condition to be fair, considering its age and this is a frequent occurrence in this particular record. Small amounts of the title/artist are missing from rubbing. In effect this is diminishing my proposed starting bid.

INNER RECORD SLEEVE:

Slight glue marks from manufacture, cream browning from ageing but still in very good condition. Minor creases that can be perfected.

RECORD COVER OPENING:

Sleeve opening in good condition

EDGES:

Minor dog-eared, I have included photographs, but nothing that would concern me.

THE RECORD:

The record fits the ‘Record Collector's Rare Record Prices Guide’ description as stated at the top of the page.

This record is in very good condition, apart from slight spindle marks in the centre that can barely be seen. There is one small scratch on side 2, on the inner matrix ring which is not disturbing any of the recorded material whatsoever (nowhere near the Matrix ring as photographed). Surface mark condition very good.

In my opinion this record is in very pleasing condition and has been well looked after. I haven’t come across one of these in such good condition considering its rarity before (personally).

Condition Grading of Vinyl Records

RECORD COLLECTORS GRADING SYSTEM

Mint (M)

The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent (EX)

The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good (VG)

The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable

Good (G)

Te record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc

Fair (F)

The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor (P)

The record will not play properly due to scratched, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing

Bad (B)

The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler

THE LABELS:

As you may know this is the Pink island record pink rough touch paper not gloss or matt finish (very rare early pressing 1969).

MATRIX NUMBERS:

ILPS 9111 A/ /2  1  4 (SIDE 1)

ILPS 9111 B/ /2  1  5 (SIDE 2)

I am a very fussy person when it comes to condition and heavily critical, this record in my opinion is in very good overall condition.

I have already been offered the stated opening bid amount for the record by a private collector but personally I feel that considering its condition and Matrix numbers this particular copy deserves to receive more attention from an on-line audience.

I have to the best of my abilities/knowledge given an accurate and detailed description of this records condition.

If you have any further questions please don’t be afraid to ask.

POSTAGE:

This item will be packaged with utmost care and consideration for its journey ahead. The box it will come in will be larger than the record itself and supported with bubble wrap and various cushioning materials and in a stable and strong receptacle.

I will offer free postage with recorded delivery.

CONCLUSION:

I do hope that this cherished record of mine/my father’s finds a new home and brings joy to its new owner, this record has been passed down to me from my father as a present to fund my move.

Happy Bidding!
