HISTORY...

In the Court of the Crimson King (subtitled An Observation by King Crimson) is the debut studio album by English rock band King Crimson, released on 10 October 1969 by Island Records. The album is one of the earliest and most influential of the progressive rock genre, where the band combined the musical influences that rock music was founded upon with elements of jazz, classical, and symphonic music.

IT REACHED NUMBER 5 IN THE UK CHARTS.

THE COVER WAS PAINTED BY BARRY GODBER WHO SADLY DIED JUST AFTER ITS RELEASE, ROBERT FRIPP NOW HAS THE ORIGINAL ARTWORK.THE COVER REPRESENTS SCHIZOID MAN , THE INNER GATEFOLD THE CRIMSON KING.

The iconic gatefold cover is in great condition for age. It has no splits or tears, the usual age related discolouration /wear to corners, edges, spine etc. There is a small sticker removal mark to the front.

The vinyl is stunning, one of the best i have come across - it has retained a gorgeous glossy sheen in appearance and sits flat to the surface. Labels and spindle holes are equally as fabulous! There are only a couple of light no feel surface lines, excellent!

OVERALL A RARE & FANTASTIC PIECE TO ADD TO YOUR MUSICAL COLLECTION.
