APACHE / IN-A-GADDA-DA-VIDA ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by MICHAEL VINER'S INCREDIBLE BONGO BAND. Original Italian pressing on the MGM Label (2006 408) from 1974. Desirable Italian-only single and unique picture sleeve issue of the legendary B-Boy anthems. Both APACHE and IN-A-GADDA-DA-VIDA contain explosive drum and percussion breaks. The APACHE side is probably the definitive Kool Herc block party / break-beat tune that helped kick off the whole B-boy / Bronx / Queens early hip hop scene. Incredible, psychedelic funk version of the Iron Butterfly smash, IN-A-GADDA-DA-VIDA on the B-side with fuzz distortions and phased rock breaks that easily match the heaviest moments of the Klaus Weiss / Niagara - Sangandongo club tune. Not many other funk related double-siders can boast as many beats and breaks as this obscure 45. Outstanding congas by King Errisson with funky drums to die for too. Our soundclip opens with a sample of funky breaks from IN-A-GADDA-DA-VIDA followed by both themes in their entirety. Great for DJs. Very rare 45!!!    

Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Vinyl is in shiny, strong VG++ condition (closer to M- overall) with a few hairlines and faded, old pressing burn mark to a small section of the 'Apache' side only that causes intermittent background noises, circa midway onwards. Small pen mark to labels. The sexy nude / pop art picture sleeve is in strong VG++ condition (closer to M- overall) with minimal light wear. Some creasing from storage / a touch of corner wear in places. Very rare 45!!!
