The Incredible Chet Baker - Plays and sings
Italian pressing, Carosello CLN 25075 (1977)
Rare Chet Baker Lp, a very important session recorded in Milan in 1977 just after his glorious return on the scene. Superb "plays & sings" session feauring the voice of Chet's girl Ruth Young, Jacques Pelzer (flute, soprano sax), Gianni Basso (tenor sax), Bruce Thomas (piano), Lucio Terzano (bass) and Giancarlo Pillot (drums).
The whole Lp is just great and delicate with those absolutely touching versions of "Autumns leaves" and "Whatever possessed me" sang by Chet and Ruth. The rest is awesome, also featuring an inedited and awesome hard-bop number written by Bruce Thomas. Rare!
Conditions:
Cover: Very strong VG+, with just some light age discoloration and general wear. Small sticker on top left. Inside of the gatefold sleeve is perfect.
Record: M-, probably unplayed.
Grading scale (strict gradings): M, M-, VG++, VG+, VG, VG-, G.
