INCREDIBLE JIMMY SMITH "Crazy Baby!" Blue Note 4030, P, RVG, DG, Mono Vinyl
This is the 1960, first edition, "RVG" stamped, Deep Groove, Laminated Cover, "P"-pressing of INCREDIBLE JIMMY SMITH's "Crazy Baby!" on the "47 West 63rd" labels of Blue Note BLP 4030. Musicians include Drums – Donald Bailey, Guitar – Quentin Warren, Organ – Jimmy Smith
VINYL plays well, with consistent low-to-medium level surface noise (i.e, static, crackle, ??,????,relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with many pops and ticks. Ensemble sections are dynamic and strong with clean transients, powerful extension and clear tone. Several skips scattered throughout the two sides. No locked grooves. No distortion. Excellent gloss, both sides. Handful of hairline marks, four feelable. The "47 West 63rd" labels show wear and spindle marks. Original inner sleeve included.
LAMINATED COVER is in excellent, beautiful condition, strong inking. Corners worn. Top and bottom seam and spine in excellent shape; no splits. Back jacket shows wear, ink stamp, small stain, but largely in very good condition. Please see photos.
