On offer here is a VERY rare LP by The Incredible String Band called 'The Incredible String Band' and is an ORIGINAL 1966 MONO 1st Pressing on the 1st Press Elektra label!!!!! THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!!! THIS IS THE INCREDIBLE STRING BAND'S FIRST AND RAREST LP EVER AND VIRTUALLY NEVER TURNS UP FOR SALE!!!!! JUST TRY AND FIND ANOTHER ONE!!!! BACK IN 1966 WHEN THIS LP WAS FIRST RELEASED - IT ONLY EVER SOLD IN ABSOLUTELY TINY AMOUNTS< AND WAS ALMOST IMMEDIATELY DELETED!!!! AS A RESULT IT IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND INCREDIBLY HARD TO LOCATE TODAY!!! BUT WHAT MAKES THIS LP REALLY SPECIAL IS THAT IT IS THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING EVER MADE - WITH COMPLETELYDIFFERENT LABELS!!! AMAZINGLY, THIS LP HAS THE IMPOSSIBLY RARE 1ST PRESS ONLY 'WHITE/GREEN' ELEKTRA LABELS - THAT ONLY APPLIED TO 'TRUE' 1STPRESSINGS ONLY!!!! AND THIS MAKES THIS LP OF THE UTMOST RARITY!!!! THIS LP SOLD ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLY ON REEASE IN 1966 (ON THE 1ST PRESS WHITE/GREEN LABELS) AND WAS DELETED SOON AFTERWARDS.ONLY LATER ON IN 1967 - WHEN THE INCREDIBLE STRING BAND BECAME MORE POPULAR DID ELEKTRA RE-PRESS THIS LP, AND IT SOLD IN FAR GREATER AMOUNTS. HOWEVER, BY THEN - ELEKTRA HAD DROPPED THE ORIGINAL 'WHITE/GREEN' LABEL IN FAVOUR OF THE CURRENT (AT THE TIME) ORANGE LABEL INSTEAD!!!! AND THIS IS WHAT MAKES THIS LP SO AMAZINGLY RARE!!!! BECAUSE, ONLY THE ORIGINAL 1ST PRESSINGS FROM THE 'DAY OF RELEASE' BACK IN 1966 (IMMEDIATELY DELETED!) - EVER CAME WITH THIS ULTRA RARE 'WHITE/GREEN' ELEKTRA LABEL - AND BARELY ANY WERE EVER MADE!!!! ALL LATER PRESSINGS NEVER HAD THIS LABEL - AND WITH THIS '1ST PRESS ONLY' WHITE/GREEN ELEKTRA LABEL, IT MAKES THIS THE RAREST INCREDIBLE STRING BAND LP EVER MADE (AND ALSO THE RAREST LP ON THE ELEKTRA LABEL!!!) SO THER IS ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT - THAT THIS IS THE 'EARLIEST' & RAREST 1ST PRESSING OF THIS AMAZING LP THAT YOU CAN POSSIBLY GET!!! NOT ONLY THAT, BUT THIS LP IS IN GREAT CONDITION - WITH SUPERB LABELS!!! LOOK AT THE PICTURES!!! EARLIEST 1ST PRESS A/B MATRIX ENDINGS AND EARLIEST 1ST PRESS FULLY LAMINATED MONO COVER!!! This is the ORIGINAL UK 1st pressing from 1966 and is in good condition!!!! The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl. The Cat.No is EUK254 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press White/Green Elektra label (see picture) and is a UK MONO 1st pressing!!!!
The foregoing was cribbed from a previous description but I felt it true. I will now attempt to honestly define the condition:-
The record labels are in SUPERB condition with NO writing. NO wear and only some light spindle marks. It has no serious scratches, only a few light hairlines, NO scufflines. It plays as well as the visual with NO nasty loud pops, barely ANY clicks, NO sticking, NO jumps and barely ANY crackle.
The sound quality is SUPERB with NO groovewear and NO distortion either. The record comes with its ORIGINAL 1st Press inner sleeve which is slightly split on the bottom edge. The laminated MONO cover is in GOOD condition, it has NO edge wear, NO spinal wear, slight corner wear (not more than 5mm either side) only a few light creases but still looks very flat. Only one area of laminate separating max 9mm wide near spine ( laminate still intact) VERY shiny laminate and NO writing. The opening edge is straight with only microscopic feathering. The laminated back of the cover is also in GOOD condition with NO grubbiness, only slight yellowing and NO writing.
