FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY TO PURCHASE THIS REALLY RARE BEATLES ALBUM, listed at £500 in Mint Condition in the Record Collector Guide.
Now the bad news - there is no way that this record is in Mint condition. The pictures tell their own story, and I hope to honestly describe the sleeve and vinyl so that you are aware of what you are buying. I am not a dealer, just an ordinary collector with a good collection who happened to find this in a box of records. Any money I make will be used to purchase some shelving units to expand my storage space. I will give a full refund to anyone who doesnt feel the record has been described correctly. I also value my 100% feedback rating too much!
First, the sleeve. There are bad scuffs and tears to three sides, the top right hand corner has the PARLOPHONE logo and the EMI logo. On the opening edge, there is a bad tear, with some of the sleeve missing. There is also a bad crease in the bottom RH corner. In a strong light, you can see where someone has overwritten a signature in biro on some paper, and it has indented the sleeve, although this is not apparent to the naked eye. The top left corner has the STEREO logo, and the sleeve is a Garrard and Lofthouse flipback sleeve.
The rear sleeve is a complete trainwreck! It is covered with scribbles of all sorts..." I love Georgie Best.....Happy Birthday Patsy......Hi there ..etc..etc. It has discolourations, and the laminate is missing on the RH side of the flipback ( about an inch).
The vinyl is in much better condition. Side One has some marks around the spindle holes, and some minor scratches and scuffs, but it plays ok. The lettering is still clear and sharp, and it has the Stamper no's YEEX 7-B12 in the run -off vinyl. Side Two has the letters K and T embossed either side of the spindle holes, and has some significant scuffs which are apparent during playback. Side two has Stamper no's YEEX 8-B12 in the run off. The labels on both sides are undefaced, and of course has the rare " SOLD IN THE UK etc " mispressing!!!!
This is a really great chance to purchase an LP which doesnt often come up for sale. It will probably appeal to completists only, but would certainly be worth buying until a better copy came along.
I will try to answer any questions as honestly as possible, but please check the photographs and make sure you know exactly what you are bidding on!
Good luck.
