Description
INDO-BRITISH ENSEMBLE - Curried Jazz
Scarce original 1969 UK 4-track stereo vinyl LP, front laminated flipback picture sleeve. Composed, arranged and conducted by Victor Graham, starring Dev Kumar on sitar, Chris Karan on tabla, Sitara on tamboura, plus flautist Ray Swinfield and Kenny Wheeler on flugelhorn, among others. A fantastic blend of jazz improvisation with Indian raga, following the influence of Ravi Shankar on the UK at the time plus the success of Joe Harriott's series of IndoJazz Suite Fusions with John Mayer.
Original UK 1st press vinyl LP record on the plum red/silver MUSIC FOR PLEASURE record label from 1969.

Vinyl :
This vinyl is in VG++ condition with very minor surface scuffs and light surface marks to vinyl both sides. Two clean labels and tidy undamaged centre label spindle holes. The vinyl remains in superb condition retaining a glorious luster after 40+ years on!.
Sleeve :
This high gloss front laminated flip over seam issue picture sleeve is in VG++ condition. The printing is exceptionally bold, and images are sharp. The whole sleeve feels very solid. No pen or tears of any kind. Spine is clean and spine text clear to read. Some light creasing to laminated, back handling marks, wear to opening edge and light corner rounding. Comes complete with original company MFP ad printed inner sleeve in nice tidy condition.
