INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC OF THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS Tradition USA ORIGINAL LP

Instrumental Music of the Southern Appalachians.

Banjo, Fiddle, Guitar, Dulcimer and Harmonica.

Original circa late 1950's USA pressed Tradition Records mono LP, TLP 1007.

Vinyl in near mint condition. Hard to detect any spider trail marks around the centre spindle areas, and the labels are still very bright and glossy. The playing surfaces still have a really glossy sheen and are free of any marks.

Sleeve is very top end VG, and not far from EX. Very well preserved for a USA sleeve of such vintage and the overall appearance of the front and rear panels is overall superb with just traces of darkening rubbing to the predominantly white rear. Not only free of ringwear rubbing, but no scrapes, dings, sticker or pen marks. Seams are also remarkably preserved and without splits of note. A touch of a closed split to centre of top edge, but neat and only half an inch in length. Bottom left corner tip has just a small area of fraying. There is a touch of a knock to the top left tip, and just a touch of creasing to the top right corner area.

By and large however, this is a superbly preserved issue of one of the most desirable of the early releases of American folk music which will be tough to upgrade. I'm sure I read somewhere that this LP was a pivotal early listen in the career of Ry Cooder.
