Description

Title: Safe At Home   CONDITION: Record: Labels are clean. Original 1st press with colored labels, not that black & white label bootleg thing. Very glossy with just a few light marks. Disc is M- condition. Sleeve:  Cover is in beat up shape. Upper right corner DING/damage/seam split. Ring wear on front and back, mostly at the top and around the edges. Lower right corner wear. Lower left corner crease. Back is not too bad. Overall VG to VG- condition. Label: LHI 12,001 Overall Condition:  Nice record in need of a better cover. Description: Cover is in rough shape. If you have a nice cover and a beat up record, then this auction is for you. Almost the very beginning of Gram Parson's career. This was recorded in 1967 but not released until April 1968. When this Lp came out, there was NO interest by either the rock crowd or the straight country Nashville scene in a bunch of long haired youngsters doing their idea of country music or country/rock. That wasn't even a thing then. Heck, the group wasn't even together when this finally came out. Gram joined The Byrds in February 1968 who were dismissed by the Nashville establishment as hippie interlopers trying to show them a thing or two. Ever hear of an Lp called "Sweetheart of the Rodeo"? Nashville didn't care at all. This wasn't hard rock or psych so the teens didn't play it and it wasn't straight country so the regular country people didn't care. "What is this stuff anyway"? NOBODY gave this Lp a listen when it came out and I doubt if even one song on this Lp has ever been played on the radio, which is why most of them you see today have nice, barely played records in them. If this had a nice cover to go with this nice disc, you could add a "1" in front of my price. This Lp has 4 Gram Parsons original tunes and comes with the sheet music for Gram's song "Blue Eyes". Don't know why it's in there but it's included since it was in the cover when I got it.
