INTRODUCING PAULA GREER (Workshop Jazz 203, 1963, SEALED) This mega-rarity came from the short-lived early Motown subsidiary label, Workshop Jazz. Jazz singer Paula Greer was discovered in Chicago by Mickey Stevenson, A&R head of Motown, and brought to Detroit to make this, her only issued album. (The Complete Motown Singles includes her only single, "I Did," from this album.) Reportedly a great favorite of Little Stevie Wonder, Paula kept singing her heart out until her death a few years back. Her recklessly lusty vocal skills are sure to delight any jazz-vocal fan with a sense of humor. I had the Craziest Dream; My Romance; Somewhere; Falling in Love with Love; Green Dolphin Street; Till There Was You; Make Someone Happy; Faraway Places; I Did; I Didn't Know About You. This is a sealed copy - but beneath the plastic, the front cover has white dots and streaks (not visible in the scan above); apparently the printing went awry.
